Baking soda = dirtbag climber’s best friend

June 19, 2010

God's gift to dirtbag climbers?

Seriously. Baking soda is a great thing to have with you when camping, and it’s super cheap. Here are some of the uses:

1. Treat sunburn.

2. Clean dishes.

3. Get all of the grimy dirt off your hands.

4. Toothpaste.

5. Deodorant.

6. Car deodorizor.

7. Fire extinguisher.

8. For insect bites.

9. For cleaning fruits and vegetables (although I don’t know how many dirtbag climbers eat fresh fruits and vegetables…).

10. Mouthwash.

Also, some people say you can wash your clothes (I know it can be used to help get stains out, but for washing them?) and hair with baking soda, but I’ve seen conflicting information and I’ve never tried it… Got any other ideas?
