This video is pretty awesome. It’s about an hour and twenty minutes long and is comprised entirely of original footage from the 1953 Everest FA expedition.
I don’t know what’s more epic in this film: the climbing of the mountain, the Swiss Family Robinson-esque music, or the narration! Here’s a gem, spoken at a crescendo of dramatic music (referring to the Sherpas): “And what they’re carrying also… is a dream that is turning ripe!”
